Herpes - Help PLz....?

I am 29 and I recently got red bumps near my butt. along with inflamed lymph node in front, Family Doc. told me its herpes !

I am virgin with zero sexual contacts ever how can I get this ? Doc. is of the opinion when I am a kid 5-6yr old I got chickenpox and it is this tht grown into herpes, is it true ?

Also, doc telling no need to know if its type-1/II as the medications are same... (Taking Aciclovir 400mg 4 times daily)

I think I should know what type it is but I wonder if it matters now... also if I wana have myself checked with a specialist in a hospital what kind of doc. treats this ?

Is there any way to know how the hell can I get this ?

Pictures are not really of great value to amateur eyes. Yes it could possibly have been herpes related, but maybe not... yes it could be shingles or HSV1.

Are you sure your doctor didn't say things like 'that looks like' or 'that might be' herpes? I find it hard to believe a doctor would narrow down to something like herpes on the butt in a non sexually active person without a formal test of some kind.

The best thing you can do for herpes and their lesions is let your body do the work, at least in the first instance. If that doesn't work satisfactorily then consult your doctor about immune system issues and what might enhance your immune system.

Also, if its shingles, you may never have another outbreak again.

There is a family of viruses called herpes simplex that are related due to the symptoms they cause in terms of the tingling, crawling feeling and the blisters.

The family includes HSV1, HSV2 and herpes zoster (aka shingles).

A blood test will tell you if you have HSV1 or HSV2, but not the location. The best thing you can do is have a swab if any further sores or rashes emerge. Without sexual contact it is not likely to be HSV2.

If its shingles, then it may be one time episode and is very minor but in my case doctor has mentioned its "Herpex", so I guess its herpes as in HSV.

Now, how can I be sure if I have shingles or HSV ?

Correction, i was reading to quickly before answering. The doc is correct that if a person had chickpox as a child it does lie dormant in the spine or head area and can outbreak but it is most common with ages 50 and up and is called Shingles. So did you have chicken pox?  and considering your age i believe you had a vaccinne for this anyway. Most symptoms would be a small section rash on one side of the body that can be extremely painful.

Hi, the herpes the doc is talking about if hiv1 oral that most children acquire at childhood. As a matter of fact, its estimated that up 70% of the adult population would test positive for this. Making reference that you have genital herpes is not a very good diagnosis as genital herpes is acquired by sexual contact.
The only other way you could have herpes hsv1 genital,is you giving it to youself but this is extremely rare as the body already has antibodies to prevent this. If this were not so, then most chidren with oral herpes would have genital as well which is not the case/

Im of the opinion that you were given totally incorrect information about this.

Best to have a blood test to determine your status or swab a sore within 48 hours after appearing.

If you worried see another doctor, I WOULD!!!
