Herpes Immunoblot test.

Had unprotected oral (received on Aug 13) Symptoms lasted for 4 + months. Had HIV, syphilis, 3 gono/chlam tests, Hep C done...was diagnosed with NGU, and no antibiotic worked for the burning in urethra.

Was on Z-Pac 2grams, 400mg suprax, 1g daily x14 days Cipro, 200mg x14 days Doxy, 2 weeks of 1.5g of Flagyl and 4 pills of Difucan....over the 4 months. If anyone checks my previous posts its has been a giant pain dealing with this.

Well to update I have received my HSV 1 and 2 results. I had the test done 5 days shy of the 16 week mark. (exposure was august 13th, testing was Dec 8th).

Immunoblot IgG HSV1 - Negative.
Immunoblot IgG HSV2 - Negative.

Boy did this take the weight off my chest. What is the accuracy of this test? I think I found a post with Grace stating that its 92-98% accurate. Also I am assuming that testing a few days before the 4 month mark should not invalidate thhe results?
This taught me a lesson what  total lack of judgment and having the "little head" doing the thinking for the big head can get you into.

Any feedback would be welcome, thank you.

I assume that the pathogen in question is something else. Soemthing that standard STD tests don't pick up. Even if its gone out of our system it could have done damage and maybe sensatized our nerves in that area to keepgiving symptoms even though the tests show negative for HSV.

I also have tested negative via Herpeselect IgG and 2 Western Blots @ 6 months post exposure and I still experience symptoms every single day - everyone tells me to forget about HSV - I have seen 10 doctors (GP's, Urologists, Dermatologists, Infectious Disease Specialist).  Everyone says there is no way HSV is the problem.

trust the results. You are in the clear. Go enjoy life! I know it is easier said then done. Here I am testing negative and still am experiencing the post herpetic nueralgia symptoms... which I see there are many other who are experiencing the same. Most of them have tested positive. I guess for me it is a matter of time. I took an immunoblot at 15 weeks and that was negative as well. so maybe there is some hope. not so sure.

Should I trust the results still? Combined with the 15 week negative Immunoblot results.

What is their accuracy 80-90%?

Just curious.
