Herpes New Research

Hello Everyone:

I am a new member to this community living with herpes.  I recently read a column in th news paper that "a new approach will finally kill the herpes," and the research center is Duke University, North Carolina.  Does anyone know more about this?

Hello Everyone:

As I am new to this community, I do not have friends.  I have so many unanswered questions in my mind.  Can anyone answer my questions?  I really like to make friends.

Personally, no.  But I know people have to do what they have to do.

We know a few things about herpes, and one of those is that there is no cure.  We have no cure for any virus.

Before you use it, research it carefully.  Google it, read non-partial reviews, etc.

you don't think it's worth a try?

Those things don't work.  If they did, no one would have herpes anymore, and insurance would cover it, etc.

Don't waste your money on such things.

And herpes has been around since the beginning of time.  Its not going anywhere anytime soon.  We know that herpes was around during the Greek and Roman empires.

I was researching herpes on the i-net and saw an interesting concept about electronically injecting the antiviral medication which delivers it directly and more effectively to the virus bypassing the digestive system and liver which tend to break down the medicine to useless levels.  I do not know if it works, but it would certainly be worth a try!  The claim is 85% success rate in people who previously tested positive testing negative one year later.  I think I'm in! www.****.com

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/07/02/AR2008070201903.html   is what I assume you are talking about. The only thing I can really say at this point is we have to wait and see. I try not to get too hot and bothered about anything like this - it's far too early in the testing stages to know if it will really work or not. We've seen many things that appear promising at this stage that don't pan out in the past. If it ever gets to successful phase 2 testing - trust me I'll be posting info on it like mad and talking it up non-stop :)   At this point I'm guessing 5 years or so until it gets to that point at the very least.
