you need to move forward from this encounter now :)
So this is considered conclusive results two years after exposure? Am i correct?
Hi Grace,
Thank you for your response. I was able to get my test results from my doctor today. My results are as follows: HSV1 IGG <.9 negative. HSV2 IGG <.9 negative.
Thanks again Grace
if you had had a herpeselect, you would've had one value for hsv1 and one value for hsv2. the way you posted your results was not the way we post them for type specific testing hence why I said what I did.
I am sorry for commenting again, but i thought i should post this if you have further insights for me. The IGG test that i did was herpeselect specific IGG.
Thank you grace
Hi Grace,
Thank for your prompt reply. I really appreciate it.
we don't recommend herpes igm testing for adults. it's inaccurate testing.
the combined herpes igg blood test isn't the best either but being completely negative means it's low likelihood that you have herpes. I wouldn't bother with more testing. time to move forward.
Hi grace,
I did the IGM HSV1/2, and IGG HSV 1/2. They both came back negative for HSV1/2. The only exposure i had was two years ago, and i never had symptoms of herpes in my life. Can i be sure that i am herpes free now after doing those two tests?
Thank you very much
Thank you very much for your response. I am going to take the test just for peace of mind, also to know my status.
Defooo
you would need to seek out a type specific herpes igg blood test to see what your status is if you are concerned.
Just to be clear on my question: i only want to know the most accurate herpes test that can give me definitive results so i dont have to worry?
Sorry for posting again. I really appreciate your response grace.
Yes, i do believe it, however i didn't ask her about this contatc: about two years ago i had protected sex with a sex worker. A year later i did a full STD screening except for herpes. Now, after reading on the forums here that there's asymptomatic herpes, i am a little worried, and want to get test for that one exposure i had two years ago, so i was wondering what's the most accurate herpes test to have my doctor order for me to be 100% sure i don't have herpes from that single exposure?
Thank you very much grace
why don't you believe what Terri told you?
