the result of your igg test really has no meaning other than you are infected with hsv1. No way to tell how long you've had it from a blood test.
once you have hsv1 on one body part, you are very unlikely to contract it on another body part.
if you aren't using condoms, have you both been tested to know your std statuses? have you both had your gardasil shots? are you covering pregnancy?

unprotected sex*...we've never used a condom.
We had sex multiple times...once when he had a lesion...but I've never gotten anything.
Also...if I have oral hsv1 from being a child and I have sex with someone who has genital hsv1...and after nearly a year with no symptoms, is it safe to say i didn't contract genital hsv1? thank you
