you poke your groin enough, it'll start to get tender.
really, you are spending far too much time checking out your genital area. time for a new hobby. If you get herpes lesions, you won't miss them, trust me!

I have just started feeling the lymph nodes in my groin. The ones at the corners of my pubic area (closer towards the center of my body) and both are a little tender when I apply firm pressure...more significant on my left side.
The one on the left side seems to be a bit firm (smaller than the size of a pea). However, I do NOT have any signs of sores.
The other lymph nodes in the area seem to be fine and NO tenderness. Would all lymph nodes in the area be affected if this was a symptom or just these specific ones (same location on both sides)?
This started about 2 1/2 days after exposure and now it is 4 1/2 days after exposure and still no signs of sores. The tenderness has reduced as well.
Should I be very concerned about the lymph node symptoms?
If I don't get an outbreak within 10 days, do you believe the chances of being safe increase a lot?
hard for us to know what it was. you need to cover your own bases at this point.
I did some more research...could it be angular cheilitis? It was on the CORNER of her mouth. She said she first noticed it on Thursday.
Thank you for your reply, Grace. Yes, I washed with soap as well. We were messing around for some time before I ejaculated and had the opportunity to wash up. How long is too long?
Do you think the fact that the cold sore was off the side of her lips reduced the chances in any way?
What are the chances of acquiring herpes when a cold sore is present? 75%? More? Less? Is a open cut required for the transmission?
One more thing. She denied that it was a cold sore and said it was a pimple. She said the scab was NOT present on Saturday night but formed in the morning. She peeled off the yellow scab in the morning to show me (which seemed a bit difficult to remove) and there was a simgle smooth pink bump (couple millimeters in width) underneath with NO fluid. It did NOT bleed and there was NO sign of fluid coming out of it. There were NO borders of red and there seemed to be circles of dry skin around it.
washing up after sex doesn't decrease your std risk. it just makes you smell better and not be sticky. no reason to use HOT water for it either, it's the soap that does the hard work, not the water temperature.
have you ever been tested for herpes before to know your own status?
don't get the herpes igm test. it's a flawed test and current CDC recommendations are that it shouldn't be used in adults since it can't accurately detect recent infection with genital herpes. You'll need to wait 3 months post encounter if you want to get tested for herpes from this encounter.
no diarrhea isn't a sign of herpes.
