Herpes incubation time / possibility that I have it

26 days ago I had oral sex with a girl (she did me and I also kissed her), that then told me that she had herpes developing under her lip. As she said the lip was not yet broken and no soar was present at that time.

In these 26 days I went trough alot of emotional and body stress due to my work (worked in cold conditions, almost caught a cold), but no symptom of herpes had developed in that period, I had no soars neither on my lips or on my penis, just a few broken lips (due to accidentally biting them) that were fixed in one or two days).

Now I  have heard that the average incubation time of oral herpes is three to twelve days, but I am still worried that I might have been infected. I am abit overworried when my health is endagered. I don't live in a big city, so I would have to go to our capital to have my blood tested for it. Could you just tell me if the risk is still high that I have caught herpes in that time? Since thinking about it and worrying makes me sick by now, once I get my mind on it.

My opinion hasn't changed one iota. If you are still concerned - see your provider.

The hard skin keeps persisting into the fift day, maybe it got a little little smaller, but it's still hard on the inside. Like a half cm long, i'm starting to doubt it's a serious infection probably just something that caused the tissue to scar, or something that breeded in the wound. It doesn't ich nor does it hurt. What do you think?

Well, the fourth day now and the white scar like tissue on my lip remains, although the bite was really small, nothing unnromall. It doesn't hurt nore does it itch, it's just there, a half cm like of hard skin, that doesn't want to go off nor does it want to crack. Should i be consirned kissing my girlfriend and transmitting it to her? I tried propolys today, and no major change on it.

depending on where you live - the vast majority of folks have hsv1 orally. Not many of us make it to the old folks home without it.  It's only a big deal if you let it be.

It sounds like you are obsessing over all of this.  Most of what you have posted about sounds like chapped lips more than anything.

Yesterday a line of hard skin appeared on my upper lip and I don't know what it is. It seems to be just like dead skin, from a bite to the lip, but it's hard and doesn't ich nor hurt, it's just there. Could this be a sign of herpes?

Damn I'm worrying myself sick about this matter and just can't get it off my mind. Wouldn't I have had a symptom of herpes in the first twelve days on my lips or penis if I had gotten HSV1? I checked them both regulary and nothing was there, though I keep reading two things. One that the symptoms appear after the incubation time (average 4 days) and the other that It might appear whenever. I was even at the dermatoologist that week because another matter and asked at the end if I might have herpes, and she said if I had it it would have appeared in the 3 days. And it didn't no signs of herpes.  I really can't have my blood testet at this moment and I'm starting to feel sick just by thinking about it. How could I have gotten something that will last a life time with souch a stupid mistake.

Thank you, you calmed me abit, but wouldn't I have had atleast some soares on my lips If I had gotten it? So far I haven't had any soars on my lips, and as I asked my mother nobody in the family has had herpes neither did I in my childhood.

How does it look like when it starts to appear? "Water" under the skin that itches and burns?

HSV1 usually does not spread to the genitals.

A large portion of the population has HSV1. You may have it already and not know.

I wouldn't loose any sleep over the issue.

A blood test may help put your mind at ease.

There is always a chance you could have contracted herpes. 90% of people with HSV2 have no idea they have the virus. I am one of those people that tested positive and had no idea. I had HSV2 for at least 10 years and was unaware of it. As far as your chances they are probably low during a one time experience.

Do you know if she has HSV1 or HSV2?

Herpes will not endanger your health.

Getting a blood test would probably be best to help put your mind at ease.
