Herpes infections question

I have been tested positive for HSV2 via Swab in genitals.  Blood tested also show positive for HSV1 I used get cold sores when I was kid.  My question is if I have with someone who has genitals herpes who's not sure which type. If they have genital HSV1 Could I contract Genital HSV1 and could I infected them with HSV2?

Thanks for your reply.
This virus and life with is so debilitating the emotional sigma is so much worst then physical and health risks.  I simply don't understand why there is not more public campaigns to help remove the sigma from this disease. Seems like this is pushed to an underworld which no one wants to talk about.  There numerous  people come out and talk about and disclose their status with HIV.  Which has a positive effect on the acceptance for people with and also raising money and increase efforts for vacancies The same can be said of HPV.  But for HSV nothing that I am aware of.  Its no wonder why people don't want to disclose it to others and remain celibate.

Please let know if there is a campaign working a public awareness to remove the sigma for HSV so I can get involved,

Hi, if you have oral hsv1 getting it in the genital area would be close to zero and you have strong anitbodies that would help prevent it. Getting the same in different areas is really not much of a concern at all.
If he has genital hsv2 he cant recatch it, if he has has genital hsv1 its possible but the risk is a bit more getting a different one in the same area. Just have him test to confirm your concerns.
