Herpes or Jock Itch?

Hello,

To begin, about 2 months ago now I had an oral sexual encounter that was unprotected. I was aware that the woman with whom I was involved with had a sexual experience about a month before that that also included unprotected oral sex.

Three weeks ago I contracted a painful (not itchy) rash in my upper inner thighs, where the leg folds into the groin, after a very sweaty day in the hot heat, and lack of shower until the night. I assumed it was jock itch, and accordingly began to treat it with lamisil. The medicine helped reduce the intensity of the rash, but it didn't fight it all the way off.

Soon, the rash became itchy (and remains itchy), and spread to my groin and, though not as heavily, my penis. There are now splotchy red areas on my penis that seem to be surrounding very lightly raised white skin. I have had canker sores (cold sores?) in my mouth, and they either look like a very mild version of these sort of sores, or small ring-worm-like structures. The rash seems confined, in itchiness, mostly to my scrotum and penis.

My question: does this sound like it MIGHT, potentially, be herpes? I have had no feverish signs, though I've also read that everyone expresses herpes differently. I am worried about herpes because I've read jock itch doesn't spread to the scrotum / penis. There isn't any other STD that might fit these symptoms, correct? I'm on my second tube of anti-fungal medicine, and though it seems to help keep the symptoms at bay, it doesn't make them go away. Finally, I'm in an area of the world where seeing the doctor is out of the question (for the next 6 weeks), so any other advice or insight would be useful.

Thank you.

if you've been treating for jock itch with medication 2x/day for 3 weeks, time to be seen and get a proper medical evaluation.   doesn't sound like herpes or a std going on.
