Herpes or heat rash?

I have a group of bumps at the top of my vagina and I'm wondering if it's herpes. I do have bumps occasionally but have no other herpes symptoms. I was in a relationship with someone for years that had herpes but was on drugs to suppress symptoms and outbreaks and we never slept together when he was having an outbreak. My significant other and I have been together for years he has never had anything like this. I'm wondering if it's just a heat rash or from shaving.

Honestly, and I wish I had a better answer for you, it could be any of those.

It's not likely to be heat just on the vagina, but it could be shaving, herpes, an allergic reaction to something - it's a long list of possibilities.

If you've had them for a few days or less, and they look like they are fluid-filled, get to a doctor as soon as possible - like today, if possible, and get them cultured with a type specific culture or PCR swab. Any doctor can do this, including an Urgent Care.

It's important to do the type specific testing because transmission of each type is really different.

The longer you wait, the harder it is to diagnose.

Let me know what happens.

Yeah... that's not likely to happen. 1) no insurance and 2) our doctors book up months in advance. I think it's just from shaving (or the shortest outbreak ever) because they already feel better.
Is it likely that the virus would lay dorment for years and I would just now have an outbreak?
It's definitely possible that it could lay dormant for years, but that isn't as likely as getting sores with a new infection.

How long have you had the sores? A herpes outbreak will last at around a week. If it's a new infection, it will last a few weeks. If it gets much better in a couple of days - or less - it's not herpes.
Just since today and they are already lessening.
That doesn't sound like herpes. How are things now?
