Found out that I had herpes antibodys in blood test two months because I was getting herpes 2 symtoms. They seem to be ongoing doc won't do exact test unless their are blisters which I don't have at this time. I've tried to be extremely careful around my kids but didn't realize I had this for about a month and half . Went for full STD testing and all was ok except they don't test for herpes either so I didn't know at the time that's what I had. I'm now freaking out because my kids all seem to be coming down with same symtoms , such as pain in lower back, sore throat ,feeling tired all the time, hard to wake up,irritable ,just not themselfs. Hoping its was just the flu bug but there symtoms dont seem to be going away. Every for the past 2 months something else seems to come up. we live in a rural area with unchlorinated water so I'm wondering if they possibly got it from the bathtub or something since I didn't know I had it I wasn't sanitizing after a bath and we also washed our laundry together as most families do . Does anyone think I may of passed it on to them. Thanks

Heading to doc tomorrow hoping he will refer to dermatogist and maybe they can do proper testing if doc won't ,will get back to you, thanks

you need to get the right testing done to know your status for once and for all!!!

The only test I had that was positive was igg herpes antibody test, not type specific tho, all other std tests were negitive

did you ever get the proper testing done to even know if you have herpes or not? 2 years is a long time to still be in limbo about all of this and not have answers.  

no info I"m aware of in herpes infection, either hsv1 or hsv2, triggering autoimmune issues.

Hey grace, how r u, it's been almost 2 years now still getting wierd skin lessions here and there on whole body but no blisters in groin area cross your fingers still havnt seen derm yet but will go see doc for referel, im thinking it may be autoimmune problem possibly from hsv antibodies causing havick, read some stuff about possible link , have you heard anything on this subject thanks

these are not herpes symptoms. if your regular provider is stumped as to what is going on, a dermatologist is your next step.

My doctor hasn't refered me to one yet,you think it's something else going on

Don't know what's going still getting pins and needles in scrotum and it's also sticky always sticks to inner thighs if not herpes related what else could it be?

At this point be seen by a dermatologist and go from there. obviously something is causing your rashes, more important to find out what than to seek out testing for herpes at this point.

it's very unlikely this is herpes eczema too.

You can do a search online for either tstd.org or healthcheckusa.  They can order up a Type specific igg blood test.  Your provider should be following the CDC 2010 Guidelines which covers that only type specific testing should be used.

Had igg herpes antibody test done it was positive but don't know for 1 or 2 just antibodys.yes i have yahoo

Skin sensitive,irritable skin especially my legs back of legs behind my nees, sometimes prickling in groin area and anus it comes and goes,also have small pimple like sores on body,chest, stomach,underarms,legs, really havnt had much relief for past eight months,doc hasn't givenme anything in terms ofmeds. STD clinic won't do herpes blood test they will only swab blisters or sores and I never had any blisters had small pimple like sore at top of pubic hair line STD clinic did swab it and it came back negative. Is The test I get online done at home and sent back for results?

Hey. Grace,since i can't get a type specific 1 or 2 igg herpes test from my doc can I order one online and if so from which company. They only do type specific on pregnant females the test he did was an igg antibodys test and he said it came back Possitive for antibodys in theblood and that it was a resent infection I think I got tested about 8 weeks after contact. non-type specific testing is useless and a waste of time and money.

see a dermatologist for the rashes.

you won't get herpes symptoms all over your body like this.

Hey grace been a while since we talked and I was in a very confused state last time because of all my symptoms,since returning to my doc he said it was an igg positive herpes test that I had and not an Igm test so now what, it wasn't  type specify and they won't do type specific. Still no blisters but get wierd skin pain and red little sores all over my body,underarms,stomach,legs,also seem to get red eyes easily also pain in left leg mostly,been using talc powder ingroin area to keep as dryaspossible ,thanks for any advise you can giveme

if u had herpes for yrs and didnt know it and then gave birth to u children, it could be passed to ur child during birth,,,right? wat wuld the symptons be? and if u breast fed wuld that matter? if ur child was diagnosed with a geographical tongue but symptons were a little differnt..like with pain?also unexplained stomach pains and eczema??the doctors are telling me there isnt anything serious going on..

Been to infectious desease specialist he said couldn't find anything wrong with me I should continue feeling better and better as time goes on I think he thinks it's all in my head they just refuse to do any herpes type blood tests only want to test if there's blisters. Maybe need to go back to my doctor and get referral to neurologist . Thanks
