Herpes worry

Hi,

I last had sex about 7 weeks ago with a condom, I shaved my pubic area with a trimmer last week (11 days ago) and thought nothing of it, next day there was a small raise(white) with a hair sticking out of it, so I plucked the hair and went to bed.

Over the next couple of days it seems to have formed a spot or lesion. I'm worried sick it could be herpes, its been there for nearly 9/10 days now, doesn't hurt at all but like a sore. Its flat when I spread it and nothing is coming out of it. I've even squeezed it and it is just "there". I never had any redness or tingling but when I look online (I know) it seems it has to be herpes

Hi Life,

Just to keep you updated, I went to the clinic today and they said it was infected hair follicle that's turned into a cyst which should heal on its own.

Thank you for your help, it really put my mind at ease and helped me actually do some work and get through the days.

And thanks for all the selfless work you do here, it has meant a lot to me and im sure  other people, you are a credit to the site.

I'd just like to update that it started off white, it's now red round the edges where I've probably been checking it and pale in middle, it's the size of a pencil eraser. It doesn't seem like a blister and not filling with liquid or painful

After coming to the surface, it should open shortly there after as is a blister type sore with a thin flim covering and easy to pop from rubbing on cloths and spreads to the surrounding area in a cluster type grouping.

I've have booked into the GUM clinic on Friday to get it swabbed.

If I may ask one final question, wouldn't a herpes sore or lesion burst long before 9/10 days? This doesn't appear to be doing anything, not getting bigger, filled up/ smaller

Hi, this doesnot appear at all as a herpes sore at all. Herpes sores are not white but are filled with clear liquid that open and spread. See a doc for a swab if it will lower your anxiety but dont be surprised when it comes back negative.
The high risk group for those that contract herpes are long term monogomus couples where one person is infected.
