Herpes?

Hello. I am VERY scared I might have contracted herpes. It all started when i had anal sex about a month ago... immediately after i was in some pain and then it was sore to the touch. Then I went to the beach for the weekend about a week later and came back with an incredible itchyness around my anus. I told my boyfriend about it and he looked at it and said it was just red (no blisters or anything). But i did notice a cut on my perineum after sex, like it had been torn but it healed up within an hour or so. The itching lasted around a week but there was really no pain. Then I was fine for about a 5 days but today i woke up and i am tender to the touch on my perineum, i have not had any kind of sex in the last 3 days because I am on my period. What could this be? I do not see any visible blisters it is just tender when I touch it is not unbearable though. is this herpes???? please help!!! I am so scared but I don't have any money to go to the doctor...

Glad you went to get answers :)

Odds are that you and your bf have never been tested for herpes before. while it's on your mind, it's worthwhile you both get a full std screening done and make sure it includes herpes. that way you know if you have to worry like this when things are going on down yonder or not.  Also most folks who say they are std free, have never been tested to know it.

update: i was so scared and worried that i broke down and spent money i dont really have to go get checked out. The doctor told me that it was NOT herpes just some tears from having rough sex and a yeast infection. She said there was no reason to even do a blood test that she was 100% sure it was not herpes, then she showed me medical pictures of herpes to calm me down and prove that it wasnt herpes. She was an older lady who worked at a women clinic on my universities campus so she sees herpes all the time! I am EXTREMELY relieved!!!!

oh and i had a full physical exam of my genitals, there were no sores!
