Hives or herpes?

Ive been dealing with a rash on my inner thigh near my genitals and under my left butt. It has been there for a little over a week now. It looks exactly like hives and Im very prone to breaking out in hives, but it has been slowly spreading without my itching it. Im afraid it may be herpes but everything online isnt giving me answers I really need. It started out as five or six bumps and is now many more and has spread to a few bumps on my lower back and one on the outside of my left thigh. Im going to be tested today for the virus. I was wondering if anyone has their out breaks look like hives, and if the outbreak would slowly spread to other nearby places without scratching it. It is not painful in any way, just very itchy.

It doesn't sound like hsv at all. It seems to be in to many areas and if the bumos haven't turned into fluid filled blisters a few days from being noticed then I would susoect hives or something other than herpes
