Homepathic versus allopathic drug remedies for herpes

I have questions about taking Rhus toxicodendron...usually taken when herpes burn and itch intensely, Arsenicum... sores that burn severly and feel better with applications and warmth, Mercurius vivus..sores that itch, exude pus, form a crust and are accompanied by swelling of the lymph nodes in the groin, Sepia...itchy herpes with pain that strecthes up into the vagina, Urtica Urens...remedy (stinging nettle) made as tea and used as a wet dressing or just drinking two to three cups daily.
Do any doctors or previous people who have taken any of this versus the allopathic drugs have facts on which is better for the body over all? I have been living with this disease for 6 years and I am currently only taking a lysine supplement and have used homeopathic remedies in the past usually because it's way cheaper and helps more than to palliate the symptoms for a short time and makes me more aware of the exact symptoms I am having.

You can treat ob's for $4 with acyclovir from walmart if you live in the US.  Suppressive therapy from there is about $15/month.  The only lysine dose that showed any effects at all was 1gm 3x/day which is more of a hassle to take than 2x/day, is more expensive and hasn't been shown to have any effect on overall viral shedding.  No dose of lysine was shown to speed healing when just taken during ob's.

Have you had decreased outbreaks with lysine supplements, i was going to try that vs. valtrex because valtrex can be expensive.
