Upon first infection with either type of HSV, an outbreak occurs in most people and in the range of 2-10 days after the infection occurs.
Most people are infected with oral HSV1 from 3 months of age to 3 years. They are too young to remember the first infection and up to half of infected people do no experience outbreaks more than a year from the initial infection.
How long after infection do you get the first outbreak ?
Daily swabbing can detect the location. But I feel this isn't necessary. If either of your parents has oral HSV1 then that would be more than enough evidence that you were infected in your youth. Genital HSV1 infections in an adult rarely happen with no outbreak, for most they never forget the experience.
Is there any way to know where (on my body) did I contracted the herpes without a outbreak ?
It is exceptionally difficult once you have an established HSV1 infection to become infected elsewhere. The chances are negligible for immunocompetent people. The potential is far to small a chance to be of any concern.
IF both of you have HSV1 already, How do you avoid move the virus to your genital area? Because if she is your wife , she potencially can give you the virus in your genital area.
I believe it was a igG test back than too
You have had HSV1 since your youth, almost certainly.
What test did you have three months ago? Only an IgG test carries validity.
I forgot to mention that I'm taking Bactrium and alfuzosin hcl er could those medication influence the result ?
so you think i might have a false negative earlier ?
no not with such a high number. it would not show up at 3 weeks at 6.8.
i was tested 3 month back ad i came negative does that mean i contracted 3 weeks ago?
Hi, having a number value of 6.8 a few weeks after exposure would certainly mean its an old oral infection you picked up at chilhood. Its estimated that upward of 65% of the adult population would test positive for this. If she already has it she wont get it in the same area but could get it in another. HSV1 oral is not considered a sexually transmitted disease. You need to tell her you have it and she should test as well.
Your affair was a risk for gono, chlamydia, syphilis and hsv 1 and 2 and you should test for these before being intimate with your wife for sure.
I'm taking antibiotic right now could that influence the result ?
