Hsv2 can it be false positive

I had what I thought was a boil. Cultured staph negative 1 and 2. Then I went to gyno did labcorp herpes type select test. Results 50 hsv1 2.72 hsv2. I have dermatomyositis and that can be caused by Epstein Barr. That's a form of herpes. Should i do western blott sixteen weeks after last time I had sex. I feel normal. I did have flue like symptoms after I got the flue shot in October. Them dec I got this red bump that swelled and got bigger looked like a boil got staph infected. It healed with antibiotics and I took the valtrex. Left really pink crater like thing. No pain when peeing only had that one hasn't came back. I did have night sweets but I had the heat on 76 and wrapped in my comforter.

I also get ivig blood infusions and I tested right after getting blood with millions of antibodies so of course my blood will say I have it. Should I retest after I completely get off those and on rituxan. Or will my blood always have those antibodies forever because it's in my blood. Damn I never thought about that when getting those infusions.

Near where my stomach rubs but it was on top of the genitals. It cultured negative herpes but that could be false negative too. Was staph for sure and it left like a pink weird looking spot.

Agreed, the number is low and it is less than 10% of the HSV1 result. That is a strong indicator of a false positive.

Where was the boil?

Yes a Westernblot is a good idea to provide a definitive answer.
