<0.89, below this means negative and about this means postive.
firstly 75% of the adult population have oral hsv1 as its extremely common and most got it as a young child from getting kisses from Grandma and aunties. Many people stop having outbreaks as the age. Your husband swearing hes clean has nothing to to with any sexually trasmitted diseases as is a common childhood infection.
The number mean this Ref ranges of 22.40 is above and high numbers could indicate an old child hood contraction.
Nothing at all to be ashamed or concerned about but do have him test. and you also retest type specific.
What do the numbers mean on the test?
I am afraid to even talk to my husband about atm because he swears on everything that he is clean and has been tested. The time frame that he was tested was over 1 year ago since the last test he recieved. Could the blood test be wrong?
Hi, your doctor is not very familar with herpes. Your IgG test shows postive but since it was a combination test we dont know if its 1 or 2 but 99999.99% its hsv1 oral from childhood. You can call him to confirm this but do have another test type specific because if you do have hsv1 oral it can be passed to your husband from oral sex even with no lip blisters at the time as its called shedding. Its no something to be overly concerned abut but just letting you know the possibility. To avoid this issue have your husband tested because if he also have oral hsv1 the oral sex wont be any issue at all as he would be bacisly immune to getting ti genital.
