std testing

If your last sexual partner was in March 2014 how long after that should you continue to test for hiv and other stds.
I have been tested four times since that time up until March 2016 was the last time I was tested and everything was negative except herpes 2 was equivocal and six months prior it was negative. Dr said I had a high herpes 1.  I'm nervous can't sleep ear or anything. Please help

You should have stopped testing for bacterial std's at two weeks. Hiv is conclusive at 28 days with a 4th generation test. Hsv at three months. Your equivocal test is surely due to either your high hsv1 or just an anomaly. Happens somewhat frequently. If you had hsv2 the number would be clearly positive by now. That being higher than 3.5.
You can relax you don't have hsv2.
