HSV Type 2 positive, CIN 1

I don't know what or how to feel right now. Like it's a complete shocker.

I have results to my papsmear which indicated I have CIN 1 mild dysplasia and high risk HPV.

Then, I have result for my blood test. HSV Type 1 is negative. But HSV Type 2 is at high 10.70 igg. This is like pouring cold water all over me. I never had any sores in my lips or my privates. No symptoms at all. I've been crying a lot and made me depressed.

I even spent all day doing some research. Prior to my tests, I've been constantly eating chocolates and nuts. Mainly cashews or almonds covered with chocolates. Even soda. It says that those food can trigger hsv.

This made me think if I should still do a Western Blot considering my result is high.

Also, I would like to ask how long should I wait before I could get another hsv test? Does the high risk diminish over time?

Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you.

Hi, and not to worry. but having a 10 on a igg test would surly indicate a positive and would suggest youve had this quite some time. If the test was done at a credible lab retesting might be a waist of money. Taking the WB test is really only for those that fall into a false positive range like any number 3.5 and below. you can retest now. Not sure what the question about diminsh over time means.

A number is just a number and even if it goes down it makes no difference but once its over 1.2 it will never go below that. Most often once its over 5 it will remain over 5. Even if you have it over 25% of the adult also have it and since youve never had an outbreak you may never have one.
The thing with outbreaks as they can be asymptomatic meaning there are so small that you think its something else.

Thank you so much for the reply. What I meant about diminish over time is that if it's possible that somehow if I start taking treatment or medication....that 10.70 will decrease over a period of time? I've done my test at ARClab. Not sure if that's really a credible lab.
