Igm & IgG results

I was recently diagnosed with HSV-2 and told that my IgG level was 3.5, which indicates recent exposure. Does it indicate recent exposure or just recent activation of the virus? My first outbreak has been (I think) fairly severe and I am now in the third week and not feeling a whole lot better yet, though my blisters are gone. Is that normal? I still am having trouble urinating, burning with urination and overall soreness and pain in the genital area. I took a full dose of Valtrex for a week; is there more I could do at this point to speed up the recovery process?

Thanks so much for your help!

3.5 on an igg only means that it's positive. It means nothing else. You could've been infected 2 weeks ago or you could've been infected 2 years ago. the blood tests only tell you what you have, not how long you've had it.

You need to return to your provider for further evaluation since you are still having symptoms.  Get checked for an uti as well as get checked for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally.
