Thanks for your answer! then, the patient I mentioned in my thread, what wrong about his several times test result? the PCR is contrary with the Herpeselect elisa.
Grance, I had getten infor from some website that only 3 blood tests can give a dependable reslut(Herpeselect, WB and Bolik), why did you said the brand name isnt important?you are means all test as long as it is specific to HSV-2 can give a accuracy result?
if I take Herpeselect elisa test at 3 months, how accuracy the result is?
the brand name isn't so as important as waiting long enough. If you had a negative herpeselect at the 3 month post encounter mark then I wouldn't bother repeating it.
The blood tests have varying degree's of accuracy. the herpeselect is 98% accurate for hsv2 4 month post encounter as is the WB for herpes.

there was a patient whose several times half year's Heperselect test result was negative, while he has untypital symptom(a little crack or very few blister on his penes, ) and the PCR test showed positive, how to explain it?
In our country, a majarity Doctor hold the point that the symptom is the mainly diagnosis basis, and the heper's blood test was unaccuracy, what's your point about it?
If a patient whose symptom was untypital or no symptom, how to get a veracious diagnose besides the WB ?
Get an type-specific HSV blood test. Also, most experts say you should wait at least four months after your last sexual encounter before testing.
