Is it possible?

Is it possible for a carrier of herpes (someone who has not had an outbreak) get tested and have the test results show up negative?

No such thing as being a carrier; you either have it or you don't. Better to talk in facts than hypotheticals, answer yogini3's questions for us to be able to help you.

What kind of test specifically? Swab? Blood test? How long after possible infection was the test done?
