You didn't mention that second swab result in your post to Terri, which would have drastically altered her advice. A positive swab is confirmation that you have the infection. Out of curiosity, do you have a history of cold sores?
The tingling -- in spite of what you may think -- COULD be psychological. That doesn't mean that it's "in your head." You may be feeling actual things, but they could be caused by your intense concentration on that area of the body, amplifying previously ignored sensations. In any case, it doesn't mean that your infection is more serious or that it's any more of a health risk.
It may be something you have to learn to live with. Good luck.
shortly after my primary outbreak...about a week and half later I had a small cluster erupt in my other groin...opposite from where I had my first outbreak...it was quite smaller... but i had it swabbed and came back positive... so I know I have it...i just don't understand why i am tingling like this 6 months later...like i said it is NOT constant all day long...it just comes in 3-5 second waves...like a crawling type of feeling...never happened prior to herpes, but hasn't stopped since...
No i do not sit for long periods of time...it started happening right when I had my first outbreak...and just never stopped even when then lesions cleared up. And again I broke out in my inner thigh...not on my scrotum..where i get the tingling. Its just really weird... and i don't get it. I understand it is not a "typical" symptom of herpes, but I have read of others experiencing this type of neuralgia. I just don't know how to mediate it...
I'm confused -- in your post to Terri Warren, you did not mention a confirmation of the diagnosis via PCR. Did you actually have a positive swab result?
Hi, tingling is a nerve issue and constant would not be herpes related. Sometimes the spincter muscle causes this or even hemorrhoids. Do you sit for long periods of time?
