Jock rash or Herpes?
I had sex early on Saturday morning (3am), and by Monday Morning (10am) I noticed my groin was itching. It is on the right hand side where the leg meet the body. Right in the sweaty groin bit. I had protected sex, and I did not notice any sores on the girl.
Is this too soon for Herpes to show itself?
What does Herpes look like? Can it appear on the edge of the pubic area in the groin?
Is it even likely to catch it in this way. I don't remember any kissing in that area, and I don't remember her body particularly being in that area either. Certainly no fluids.
The general area is a little red, and I have scratched it. It looks a bit like a blister now, as I have scratched it. It is now sore, I have applied some anti-septic creme. The itching is still there a little. I did play soccer on Saturday for the first time in over a year, and then cricket on Sunday in the same shorts.

topical steroids are the worse thing you can do for herpes. I'd go with a topical antifungal at this point instead. Apply it 2x/day for 2 weeks.

The issue is I can't get to the doctor for the next week at least. It was just itchy in the groin crease, so I picked it and scratched it and made it bleed. Now it is painful. I have used some HC45 today and the itch has gone. What would herpes look like?
You are assuming that this would have to be a newly acquired infection and not that it might also be just a recurrence of a prior infection I assume? also even newly acquired herpes infections can have obvious symptoms in as little as 2 days after infection.
That said - I doubt it's herpes but cover the bases while it's on your mind.

This sounds like a fungal infection more than anything due to the location of the rash. You need to go see your provider today and confirm that though. If they suspect herpes the lesion culture needs to be done within 24-48 hours of it's appearance.
