Penis feels like it's had a "fever" for a month now.

I broke out with my first cold sore a month ago. Two days later, a burning sensation began on the skin of my genitals, and it's been there ever since. I feel fine in the morning and through the day, but it starts burning when I lay down in the evening and gets worse as the night progresses. The burning sensation comes and goes like every 15-30 min once it starts up. The only sexual contact I've had was from receiving oral sex a month prior to these symptoms starting. I shared a drink with this same person, so I'm sure that how I got the oral herpes. I don't think it's a coincidence that they started two days apart. And I had rash (that looked like the herpe rashes I've seen) on my upper thigh 5 days after receiving the oral sex, but it began disappearing within 24 hours, and was completely after a few days.

Do you think I have genital hsv1?

How would they test for this if I have no sores? A blood test would probably show hsv1, but I'm sure I already have that orally because of the cold sore.

Could this burning last indefinitely?

Well, Grace, if I'd received even a single answer on my first post, then maybe I wouldn't of felt the need to rephrase my question.
