Need help understanding

I just recently (back at end of December) found out my significant other has hsv2. I have never had any signs or symptoms. I was also tested after my last relationship, about 18months ago with a blood test and it came back as...hsv1 and hsv2, not detected. I was just tested again a few weeks ago with the doctor telling me I was negative for both. I know you should wait at least 3-4months after exposure to make sues. But here is my question... My significant other and his family is blaming me for giving it to him because I am a carrier of the virus. However, can I be a carrier and test negative for the antibodies? I would think I would still test positive for the antibodies to be a carrier? Also, is it possible for him to have had the virus for a while before he ever had an outbreak. I asked him if he had ever been tested before this and he said no... However I have been tested for all std's prior to this reltionship and within the last month and still test negative for all. Please help

Your partner's family is not relevant here at all. The only person that needs to be 'convinced' here is your partner.

If he loves you, then he will set his family straight. I would provide him with the test results and leave it at that. The truth is known, it is up to him to accept it and deal with what it means for himself. If it is true love for you, then the rest will follow.

The is no such thing as being a carrier. If  you tested negative then you dont have it to carrry!!! Also if he had a swab and it was positive that would be conclusive and very little reason for the test to be wrong. Tell his familty this.

What test did you have to confirm that you are clear of HSV? It must be an IgG antibody test.

What test did your partner have to confirm their status and what were the exact results.

If you test negative on IgG testing for HSV2, then you do not have it and it was impossible for you to infect your partner. Regardless of what others may want to think, you cannot infect anyone with something you do not have.
