New herpes diagnosis ; what to expect, what's normal

Hi just wanting some others perspectives. 30s heterosexual male diagnosed with HSV2 in mid December 2013. Had a very mild outbreak consisting of 3 small lesions on the base of penis where public hair begins. After about a week of symptoms a got diagnosed and put on 10 day course of valtrex which seemed to work. Sores went away. During the 10 days I did experience some mild itchy or tingly feelings around anus and penis, but internally like I the urethra. After about 7 days off valtrex I had a another mild outbbreak in same area, with two small lesions. Started valtrex again for suppressive treatment and sores have started clearing quickly . I still get the itchy feeling in penis and around anus some. It'a mild but is that normal ? I was tested for clymDia and gon and tests were neg. I also feel slight sensitivity in my upper thighs but no noticeable sores. I also noticed clear non odor discharge from penis but don't know it that's part of herpes or if I just never noticed as I don't usually look so closely. Just wondering if these things seem normative for herpes, especially I the early stages and breakouts? Trying not to freak out.  Thanks

Like what? I was tested for clym and gon and was negative.it may have been prodrome. I was recently diagnosed and didn't get that sensation for initial outbreak. Then went on valtrex which cleared sores. Was on for 10 days. After about 7 days off the med I got a couple sores again so the symptoms maybe have been prodrome. I have been on valtrex again for about 6 days and the sores are almost completely healed. I didn't have the itchy urethra last night or today so maybe it's going away. I have read in other places that some people have these symptoms prior to, but also during and even after an outbreak. It seems there is a lot of variation in symptom presentation.

Hi, itching and tingling are often termed Prodome and is a sign that and outbreak is coming. It can be used as a tool to predict them but just to have them non stop with no sore develop shortly after would be from something else
