Penis irritation possible herpes?

Just over two weeks ago I had unprotected sex with a girl from the bar, very stupid and I take full responsibility for any consequence.

The day after I noticed a strange tingling sensation in the tip of my penis, it gradually got worse to a burning sensation and redness of my glans. I went to my doctor the week after contact and he tested me for chlamydia and gonorrhea. He also gave me Zithromax and a shot of another antibiotic I can't remember. Chlamydia test came back negative gonorrhea has not come back yet.

The day after the medication symptoms got worse and I jumped to the conclusion it was a yeast infection and started applying clotrimazol twice a day to my penis and testicles. I went back to see my doctor and he said it didnt look like a yeast infection and I could keep applying the cream if it soothed the burning.

It is now 4 days later and my testicles are very red but don't itch or hurt, however I have noticed a red sore or something inside my pee hole that is slightly sore and has a slight burn when peeing. I am now freaking out that it is herpes although both visits to my doctor he said it didn't look like herpes.

Is it possible the clotimazol has caused an irritation? I am really worried it is herpes but do not want to go see my doctor again yet as I have already been twice last week and he said to give it some time, any advice is greatly appreciated I am a healthy 24 year old guy and really freaking out!

if you touch a lot in the "pee hole", it gets irritated. the redness is normal, it's just that we normally don't check it and we are not used to its looks.

Grace,

Thank you for the quick reply, much appreciate and does give some relief. So it is possible I have irritated myself more with the clomitrazole or even just making things worse with my own anxiety?

you've been seen several times now and your provider doesn't think it looks like herpes.

since you had unprotected sex, you can follow up on the rest of your testing at the proper times. syphilis testing can be done anytime after 6 weeks post encounter. herpes, hiv and hepatitis after 3 months.
