Physician recommendation request
Can anyone recommend a physician in New York City who is knowledgable about the treatment and management of genital HSV-1? Preferably a dermatologist because of another skin condition I have. Thanks!
dr jeffrey gilbert in the bronx is someone I've heard good things about in the past. I believe he used to be the medical consultant for the asha HELP group when it was still in existence. I have no idea if he is still in that area or even still practicing medicine but it would be a start.
any dermatologist should be able to handle your issues. you already have a + hsv1 lesion culture so diagnosis isn't the issue. because of the complications from your psoriasis, shouldn't be too hard to find a non-steroidal treatment of the psoriasis to keep the hsv1 from reoccurring too often.
