is this genital herpes?

Hi,
I have had an itch down in the genital area for about a month now, the itch is just outside, sometimes between my butt cheeks, and I saw some blood today (but I think it is spotting, and I had done sexual activities today, but not sex). I went to the gyn and she said that she couldn't see any sores so she wrote me a prescription down for an yeast infection. The problem solved after using the cream, but now the itch is back again. I examined the area and I found no sore. My legs have been hurting but I think that is from exercise. I am diagnosed with herpes simplex one, so my questions are, again:

If I touched my cold sores without washing my hands and touched the genitals, how likely am I to get myself infected (stupid thing to do....)?
Does this sound like a genital infection?
