Possible HSV-1? I'm nervous.

Yesterday I found a bump on my lower lip. It feels like it kind of swollen in that area. It is sore and looks kind of yellow. I felt something wet go on my upper lip so I looked in the mirror and found that some clear liquid came out of it so I squeezed it a bit and the clear liquid came out. It eventually stopped but then it got a small yellow, crusty layer over the bump and I took it off. It's the second day and it is still sore and the bump is not gone. Some clear liquid came out again. I'm nervous and I don't know what it is.

My lips have been very dry the past few days and I've been biting my lower lip. I researched and it says I have a cold sore. I don't remember if I got a bump on my lip when I was younger.

I could send a picture if needed.

Thank you for your time and help.

Hmm…Thanks. I'm going to get some Abreva tomorrow and see how that helps. For now I've been putting this cold sore chap stick on and vaseline over it.

Hi, i may be hsv1 oral as many people have them from childhood. If your sexually active you should have a blood test to confirm your status as can be passed to someones genital area from oral sex. Its estimated that upward of 65% of the adult population would test positive for this so dont feel nevous or scared that you may have something terrible as its not,  if thats what it is.
But it may be from biting as well thats way a test would be recommened.
