What is going on

Thanks for opportunity to ask question.  On April 25th this Year girl gave oral sex unprotected and took my penis and touched her vagina  (this may be an intentional act if true) before I could put condom on which she knew I was holding. Didn't know about oral hsv1 genitally.   anyway about 6 weeks later I got a burning feeling at tip of penis, and red looking bump on one side of urethra. (think that's the "pee hole" ...sorry)

Went to primary doc, gave me antibiotics.  Took them for several days and went to Urologist because I was paranoid.  I don't think he really deals a lot with this because even he said that hsv1 was only oral and hsv2 was genital.  anyway he took blood test and did urethral swab ( but didn't scrap or try to get sample from the area I consider infected)  This was at about 7 weeks after possible exposure.  Tests came back negative.  Hsv1 was like .85 and hsv2 was .08   he said I had nothing to worry about, especially since hsv2 was so low.

The same day he called me with the results a strange looking bump appeared on my upper lip of mouth.  I'm not really sure if I had a cold sore ever, maybe a redish upper lip at one time.   So I called doctor and told him I think I was misdiagnosed and I may have auto-inaculated myself.  Went back to do another blood test, this time like at 10 weeks or so.  He did Igm and only igg for hsv1 I came to find out because of limitations due to insurance.  (He thinks I have nothing to worry about with hsv2 as test was so low)  Anyway IGM came back negative and hsv1 now showed at the unequivical (?) mark of .95.

Question. I am so scared and wonder why I was not tested for hsv2 the second time as CDC says 12-16 weeks is guideline.  Why the cold sore (if it is, it's a redish thing that looks like 4 or 5 pinhead bumps in a cluster) that has been there now for 3 weeks. and the pain at my penis tip has been going on now for like 4-5 weeks.   The bump is still on penis tip and I am nervous.  is there any validity to these tests?  was the IGM too late at 10 weeks and has enough time lapsed for the igg? is the doc right I didn't need a 2nd igg for hsv2?  and if I come out to be hsv 1 postive is if from the cold sore thing a ma jig or genitally?   What else could be on my lip?  and sorry so many worries but no one seems to be up on this stuff except this website, but how can I ever know for sure what is wrong with me.  Someone suggested diabetes?  Is herpes symptoms so ongoing?

Thanks so much

anything that is going on for this long, isn't due to herpes.

You had a very low risk encounter.

Sounds like your anxiety is more of an issue than any risk.

At this point nothing to do but to continue following up with a provider for further evaluation. No need for lots of blood tests, lesion cultures only at this point if you get new symptoms either orally or genitally.

I did have the swab test done as well at the health dept, I didn't mention that because the nurse said it really wasn't a blister and she needed like pus and that the "sore" may be too old to culture. It came back negative so I really didn't give it much credence.

The appearance of the cold sore looking thing on my lip, does that indicate I may have the disease?  Can the cold sore thing be something else?  Should I just wait out a few more weeks and test again?  Does the IGM negative test at 10 weeks hold any value?

Thanks, Sorry for so many questions.

your symptoms do not really sound like herpes.

Your igg blood tests continue to be negative though it's still early to consider them the final answer in testing. at this point it's more beneficial for lesion cultures of active symptoms to be done instead of blood tests.
