Herpes????

I just went and had a pap smear done in September. Everything came back normal. I also got tested for any STD and I was negative. I have been with my current boyfriend for 7 months. I am very sensitive in my vagina area so I can use alot of products. I used a new brand of soap this weekend as well as have sex with my partner. Almost a day later I started to develop little bumps in my vagina walls. It doesnt hurt when I urinate it only hurts when the urine gets on the sore. I went to the hospital because I thought I had an allergic reaction. The doctor told me it looked like herpes and he took a culture from it. If I just had a normal pap smear and I was negative for any STD's, and the only symptoms I have are small sore bumps, could this be herpes? My partner was tested also and he came back negative. I wont get my test results back until Friday so I need another opinion until then(hopefully to ease my mind) lol

What kind of test did they do on your boyfriend? Did he have sores too? I have been tested for STD's in the past and only found out recently that they usually don't test for HSV. Not even at the health department. As I'm finding out how common it is, it's beond belief that they don't. They say that 1 in 4 people have it and most don't know. Maybe because they get a STD test and think they're being tested for that too. I got a STI blood panel done at a visit to Planned Parenthood to check for everything a couple of weeks ago and came back positive for HSV-2 with a low positive. I (or my ex boyfriend) have never had any symptoms so he's going to get tested and I'm going to get re-tested. You both should get a blood test to be sure. Why would your doctor guess and say it looks like herpes? He should just tell you he's going to take the culture and then let you know what the result is. Why cause unnecessary stress!
