Questions and Anxiety

As I posted in the STD's section, I had brief oral sex with a girl who is promiscuous. I didn't mention that I also had brief genital-to-genital contact because I considered it no real risk. After reading on here, I now know that you can get HSV-2 from such activity even if no sores are present, which she had none. No penetration happened. I had some discomfort after urination but got negative test results at day 5; the discomfort continued but is starting to go away now. No clue as to what really is causing it but got extra 2 weeks of cipro in case of prostatitis.

On Day 12 after incident, I had really itchy skin on my testicles (about 1 inch down from base of penis) . I made the mistake to scratch it and made the area red and inflamed. I applied nystatin in case it was fungal. Next day most of the redness is gone but still some patches of red skin where I scratched but no longer itchy nor painful and no signs of blisters or lesions. However, now the back of my testicles are now itchy but no signs of lesions or rash. Does this sound like herpes or more fungal? Should I get the red patches checked by a doctor? (I already saw the guy twice and he thinks I am over-anxious.)

How long does it normally take to see herpes symptoms (lesions/blisters) pop up? Am I still in the window period? Nervous as I am in a relationship and I don't want to pass anything on after making a stupid, drunk mistake.

This morning,  95% of the redness is gone around where the area of concern was. There is nothing there I could show a doctor without him thinking I am nuts or just saying it is normal skin color fluctuation. So probably an obvious question, but for a irritation to show up and then disappear in less than 36 hours cannot realistically be attributed to herpes, correct?

Also, last night I did see some pink areas in my groin and around my anus which where I normally get jock-itch. I used nystatin around the entire area and I am feeling better this morning; no more itching. I think it was just bad timing and maybe linked to the antibiotic use.

I am going to try to forget about herpes as a cause for any of my symptoms and move of with life. If nothing new pops up and I still feel anxious by 8 weeks, I will get the blood test as further evidence that I did not acquire anything. Does this seem reasonable?

If she did not have any sores you can pretty much rule out any contaction. Not much more we can advise but if your concerned have a test at 8 weeks for an indicator.

Sorry, not sure I understand and maybe I misstated. So it was the underside of the penis that touched the area around her clitoris but yes, closer to the bottom of the shaft. The rubbing was a good amount of rubbing but for a short duration overall (the 2 minutes). Does this change your opinion.

What part needs to be touched to transmit? So Dr. not warranted unless it gets worse?

Touching the bottom part  as you describe is not any credible risk and is not how herpes is transmitted. Needs hard rubbing to force the virus into the nerve and the area your mentioning is not a common area for transmission at all.

The shaft of my penis (bottom) touched/rubbed the area around her clitoris for perhaps 2 minutes. I could have sworn that my underwear was covering my testicles but I guess things can move around.

So I have no signs of anything on the shaft of the penis. But last night I developed an itch at the testicle area about 1/2 to 1 inch below the penis shaft, kinda where the penis folds down to. I scratched it and it quickly became irritated and inflamed. I put Nystatin on it just in case it was fungal like jock-itch. This morning the redness was down quite a bit but still some red patches. It looks almost like irritated skin papules but nothing that really looks like blisters or fluid filled. It is slightly irritated but no real pain to the touch and I don't notice it when walking or normal activity.

However, now today, the back part of my testicles and area between to the anus feels irritated but visual inspection shows nothing. I would normally think jock itch, but no redness. Should I get a doctor to inspect the remaining redness? The only way I could do this is that tomorrow I go to a immedicenter who aren't the greatest but I have no choice since I can't get quick appointments with my normal doctors.  I don't know if this is serious or I am just freaking out. Today is 13 days after the incident.

Hi, Howard asked me to chime in for a second opinion. First tell us about the genital to genital contact.
Also you mention hsv2. With no lip sores at the time, you can rule this out from the oral as most hsv oral is 1 and 2 is rare as prefers the genital area and shedding hsv2 oral occurs 1% of the time so thats out for any concern.

That leaves up hsv1 and if she did not have any lip sore at the time your risk would be close to zero from a one time affair and nothing at all to be concerned about.
This brings us to the genitial contact so please enlighten us on what touched what.

Appointment was fine. Actually the meatus and discomfort after urination started to subside even before the appointment; not quite gone though. He gave me Cipro for 2 weeks just in case there is a prostatis cause. Though the prostate did not feel enlarged the exam did cause more pain at tip of penis. He assured me that my urine tests were final and conclusive plus I still have no discharge. He thinks part of my problem is being overanxious and I need to relax and be patient.  I am willing to accept this because I am nervous as hell.

The itchiness and redness was not there at the time of the appointment. My gut feeling is that I caused the redness by scratching but don't know why I was so itchy unless I am getting jock-itch but its not in a normal area. Still freaked out about a possibility of herpes and I can't wait for 3 weeks time to be over.

I'm afraid the answers are not likely to change on this forum compared with the other one, whether from me or any of the other regulars. Herpes is not a a likely cause of these symptoms.  In your other thread, you said you had a follow-up medical appointment scheduled "in 4 days", which should have been yesterday. How did that turn out?

It may be theoretically possible to catch herpes or other STDs from "brief genital-to-genital contact [without penetration]", but it's very rare. And your testicular itching also is not suggestive of herpes.

Herpes blisters/sores usually appear within 3-5 days of exposure, sometimes 10 days, rarely up to 3 weeks.
