I'd talk to your counselor at college about this.

Thank you for your answer. I do have another question. Ive had to miss some days at school because I was in so much pain. I am a college student. My teacher wont let me back in class because I missed so many days. Do u think my gyno will sign a medical withdrawal for me so I wont fail the class?
Hi natural9,
I wanted to give you some help on the question while you work on your results for grace. First things lets get you some more knowledge.
http://westoverheights.com/ Has a free herpes handbook and some great videos on the site. The owner of the clinic is Terri Warren and she wrote a book and is also the MH and WebMD Herpes Expert. Shes pretty darn awesome and knows a few things about Herpes.
It will not affect your baby unless you happen to have an outbreak during delievery. Something you will need to work with your doctor on. If they are fearful of an outbreak they may do a C-Section just to prevent any possible exposure. Herpes is not like HIV were it will one day lead to killing you. You may have some bad days because of a bad outbreak but won't kill you. Take a look over that site and read up on it. If you have more questions keep asking them.
I will try to get that asap. But i do have a question. If me and my boyfriend decide to have kids, will it affect the baby? And can herpes kill us? I dont know much about it and what I do know confuses me a little.
can you call and get the numeric results of your blood test? All I need to see are the actual results - ie hsv1 igg 7.6 and hsv2 igg 2.3 or whatever they are.
glad you talked about this with your partner :)

I actually did decide to talk to him. Glad i did. He reacted soooo much better than i thought he would. He is going to get tested and he said he would stay by my side. It was a blood test and a coulture. The coulture(spelling?) was negative but the blood test was positive. I dont have the results though, my gyno does.
you need to talk to your partner about this. You can't make educated decisions about what precautions to take until you do. just be open and honest about it all. He'll need tested too to see what his status is.
what testing did you have done? if it was just a blood test, can you post the results here fo rme to look at?
