Random Pimple - Buttocks or Thigh Area

I'm a male and about 4 months ago I had one-time sexual encounter with a promiscuous woman. It was only intercourse once and I used a condom and there was no oral sex, rubbing nor kissing. Starting about 6-8 weeks ago, on and off again I've had what I would describe as a random small pimple (has a white head) or a random small red/pink dot (like a pimple but without the white head) show up from time to time on either my hips/thigh area or on the outer part of my buttock cheek.  Each time I observed this, it was only one or two of these red/pink dots and if there were two, they were maybe an inch apart or so. Or less frequently it would be a single small pimple with a white head in only one of those two areas (thigh/hips or outer buttocks cheek).  None of them itch that I can remember and usually within about a couple of days they go away on their own. They never appear all at once, but one's or two's at random times, they clear up with a day or two, and then days in-between all clear, then all of sudden starting again.  I've had this going on now for about 6-8 weeks with days in between where I don't notice anything out of the ordinary.  Then all of sudden after looking all clear for a few days, one morning I wake up and I find another pink/red dot in a different place somewhere else on my right or left hip/thigh area or outer buttock cheeks.  In every case, it's never a cluster but only one or two red/pink dots at most and about an inch or a few inches apart and then they go away in a day or two.  I don't know if this is related, but on occasion in the same 6-8 week period I gotten a similar pimple or red/pink dot on my back, shoulder, or chest but it's less frequent than I've seen in the hip/thigh area.  In some cases, I've noticed a symmetry like I might get a red/pink dot on each outer cheek or hip symmetrically across from each other, but that's only happened one or twice.  I have no other symptoms.

What could this be and should I be worried?

Hi Grace.  Thank you so much for your kind reply.  I got the results back today from std tests which includes hsv1 and hsv2 and everything came back negative.  I'm ok thank God!  I'm going to see a Dermatologist this week to see what it might be, but I think it may be Folliculitis. I think it may be showing up on my outer thighs because that's where my pants rub my skin and the friction may cause or make worse the Folliculitis.

These don't sound herpes related and it's doubtful it's std related at all since they go away on their own so quickly.

go and be seen monday for a proper exam to get a better idea of what is going on.
