have you ever been tested for herpes before to know your own status? Hsv1 would be the biggest risk from receiving oral sex.
A one time encounter is low risk for herpes in general. Should you develop any obvious genital symptoms in the next couple of weeks, see your provider for further evaluation.
No, being circumsized doesn't lower your risk as far as we know.

Hi Grace,
Thanks for the information. It has been 1 week and still no symptoms apart from my mind feeling "phantom pains " on my penis that conveniently go away whenever I occupy myself and stop worrying. How long do I ave to wait until I can breath a sigh of relief?
I've had those phantom pains too and got tested and it turned out I was negative, weird, I wonder if thats a real thing you brain actually does when you worried about something.
grace will probably answer this better, but from what I've read if you haven't seen anything from 20 days after the contact, you probably don't have genital herpes.
But honestly, if you or anyone has never had a type specific herpes test....you should get one, because even if you didn't get herpes from you latest encounter, it does mean you didn't get it from somewhere else and you just don't know. I found out that I was HSV1 positive after an ex-girlfriend from a while ago told me she tested positive for HSV2 and I got tested. My opinion, best combat for herpes is education.
