Again with the Unsure Herpes Question-Sorry!

BB6
I had unprotected sex with a man about 17 days ago.  About 12 days after I went to PP for testing (I had to insist on a HSV test!)  I realize it is too soon to tell, but I am scared because 4 days after the incident, I started having symptoms.  Redness, burning, what I would describe as uterus burning/ache.  The doctor did a thorough exam, and felt everything.  She said what I was concerned about were my sebeceous glands.  She took a swab, did a pap, took blood and urine.  She said I had yeast, and sent me home with a pill. (Suffice it to say I have been a mess since this incident, and I tend to be a hypercondriac--but the burning is real)  The PP doctor dismissed my concerns.

After 3 days my burning did not subside, but the uterus pain did.  It is always worse in the middle of the night.  Once I am up and around it's much better.  I am now 17 days in finally doing over-the-counter monistat cream, which seems to be helping. All in, I would say my symptoms were full on about 2 1/2 weeks, exactly how long they say the 1st outbreak lasts.

I did an IGM test at a lab--which I hear is bogus.  (I know I have never tested positive for any herpes 1 or 2 in an IGG as I have had this test as recent as 4 months ago.)  Other than wait and practice abstinance for the next 3 months, what can I do to find peace?  Would it be safer to wait 4 months?   The information on the internet makes you panic when they say 80% don't have symptoms, but I know about 12 people with herpes, and they all said they had a major outbreak the first time.

As a side note: I am also scared because I may have rubbed my eye a couple days after and I have been experiencing a sensitivity and "floater" feeling in my left eye.  I think I am being paranoid.

At this point you have absolutely no reason to suspect you have genital herpes.  A one time encounter is low risk too.

Your partner can post his test results here in his own post if he wants a 2nd opinion on them.

Yes, I got tested for everything, everything came back negative.  My IGM came back negative too, but that person just contacted me and told me that he was positive for HSV and never knew it.  At least he was kind enough to get tested and tell me.

I still believe I am having symptoms.  I have burning in the area and itching.  I don't know the odds of one time, but know that it's highly contageous.

Can I be okay with a negative IGM and then feel confident that another negative IGG in 3 months will make me okay?

A yeast infection will cause itching, burning and can even cause that achey feeling you had too.  You were properly examined, they didn't see any obvious herpes lesions anywhere and they did testing and found yeast which you have treated. If your symptoms come back, go back and be seen again.  Sometimes it takes more than one round of treatment to get rid of yeast plus sometimes the creams over correct the vaginal ph and allow bacteria to overgrow too.

If you know you get anxious about things like this easily, then I recommend not having sex until enough time has passed for your follow up testing. If you do, use a condom.  Did you also get tested for other std's when you were seen since this was unprotected sex?
