11 weeks ago I had unprotected sex with a good friend. A few days later I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. My GYN said this could happen with a new partner. However, I was instantly concerned about genital herpes. We were both tested at 4 weeks past exposure and both tested negative for both HSV1 and HSV2. Test was the IGG ELISA Test. I was still concerned so at 11 weeks I was tested again and was again negative. My first HSV2 IGG score was 0.43 and my second score at 11 weeks was .08. I've never had any symptoms except for the BV but I understand that Herpes can be confused for other things and does not have to have textbook symptoms. It has now been 14 weeks past exposure and other than an itchy feeling every once in awhile that I believe to be caused by genital fixation, I have not had any typical herpes symptoms. Should I bother to test again or just let it go? My partner has not had any symptoms ever and as mentioned had a negative HSV 1 and HSV2 IGG test at 4 weeks.
