No point in testing you for anything after you've been on antibiotics for a few days. Waiting until tuesday to test you for oral herpes and other viruses is far too late too.
Herpangina is a virus that also causes symptoms like this. It's not related to herpes simplex even though the name sounds like it should. Unfortunately the mouthwashes you need to help with pain control and healing are all prescription so you need to return again ( to a new provider ) to get them.
No. He said he wanted to start me on doxy, and have me checked for everything on Tuesday.
So a little bit of back story. I went in three weeks ago, freaking out after an encounter, where I got a sore throat immediately following, and he tested me for HSV1, and it came back negative. I realized that was incredibly stupid.
This time however, I have blisters covering literally every inch of mouth, other than the outside. Its been so painful that I've lost nearly 15 lbs in a week from not eating. Like i said, they are on the roof of my mouth, the gums, my tongue, the back of my throat, quite literally everywhere.
Many, many things can cause mouth issues.
Not sure why you are being given antibiotics for oral symptoms and no testing was done. Did they swab you for strep or anything?
