Herpes false positive?

So I've paid to post on the expert forums but I'm assuming they are busy and it'll be a couple more days not sure how that works but I'm looking for any thoughts on my situation

Routine physical tested positive for hsv 2 which is new to me. No signs or symptoms and last time I tested was in 2011 and it was negative.  The test was herpeselect type specific igg ab.

My timeline is as follows, keep in mind I have had two recent partners both of which have tested negative and most recent was 3 weeks prior to first test.

March 4th last possible exposure, unprotected oral, protected vaginal.

March 28 hsv 1 >5.  Hsv 2 1.3

April 4 hsv 1 >5.  Hsv 2 1.5

May 12 hsv 1 >5.  Hsv 2 1.8

May 22 biokit hsv 2 negative (11 weeks, 3 days post)

I've always had hsv 1 it's the hsv 2 that's bugging me. I've read a whole lot about these false positives and do plan to our sure another biokit at 16 weeks along with another herpeselect. In the mean time just want to get others opinions as to if I'm wasting my time and I have contracted it or if it all seems to be false positive. Any input is appreciated.

take one more test and make it the Western Blot as is the gold standard in testing.

By the way thank you for taking the time to respond I my post it is much appreciated. I just want to know 100% if I did contract. So far my 3 low positives say I did. My two recent partners are negative. My biokit is negative. I just wish it was more clear cut! Like hey you have hsv 2 now move on haha.

I've tested negative pre exposure. When I tested negative in 2011 I had no sexual contact 6 months prior testing I just did at the start of a new relationship. Since then I've been with her and one other person. Both have tested negative in the last month. The only people I could have contracted it from are negative. So this is where my confusion is... I have absolutely no symptoms, and did have a negative biokit. I saw the biokit not even a faint pink it was for sure negative.

Low positives could be an older infection as well as is not written in stone, it APPEARS as recent. Ive seen old infections with a value of 1.5 before. We just dont know when. The only way to really confirm a recent infection is a negative blood test taken less than a month or so post any exposure and a positive swab of a sore that appeared somewhere is the ganglion areas. Your doctor is correct in his evaluation of the hsv2 status.

So what I don't understand is that the only recent partners recently tested negative so for hsv 1 and hsv 2. How could that be a recent infection? That's what is so confusing.

Hi, so far youve tested positive for hsv2  3 times that would mean your positive and appears a recent infection. The biokit missed it with low positives involved.
