do herpes behave like this?

i have 6-8 fairly painful sores in a small area on the shaft of my penis.  but, in the past week since they first appeared, they go from being yellow-ish wet blisters to rather open sores to being dried and scabbed over.  then they go back to being blisters, then being open, then back to scabbing over.  after a few days i got one single sore on a totally different part of the shaft of my penis.  everything i have read seems to indicate that herpes has a linear progression from blisters to sores to scabbing over.

when the sores are raw, they hurt. when they scab over, they don't hurt.  i have NO other symptoms symptoms like muscle aches or fever, etc.  i feel totally fine otherwise, although the sores do hurt.

is this sort of behavior common of herpes?  i am trying now to make a doctor's appt.

would posting a photo help?

thanks a lot.

it sounds a lot like herpes, to be honest. you need to see a doctor as soon as you get symptoms again - if they suspect herpes, they must swab the sores and type it.

do you have a regular partner? have you two ever been tested for herpes (blood test) in the past?
