Herpes

I am with a partner with Herpes and we have been careful not to have sex during or after nay outbreak. We live togerther and do not use protection. I have developed a rash on my hands that seems to come and go. They are splotchy  1/8 to 1/2 in sized patches, mostly clear in the middle. They flare up and get red and fade in and out depending on time of day. They go away on there own and then come back. My hands are sensitive at night and itch only occassionally throughout the day. I am under a great deal of stress. Could it be Hives? Or maybe Herpes?  I have been to the doctor and they seem to think it is a alergic reation. It's been going on for weeks now though.  They itch mostly as night.

I agree Herpes would not last this long nor would it be present all the time,Herpes would present in a simliar way to any other Herpes outbreak it would blister/cluster in one area in the same way also,Scabies or an Allergy is more likely to be the cause of this rash and can take a while to clear up if untreated.
A friend of mine has recently had Scabies on her hands and she was driven nuts with itch and redness that came and went at different times,it has nothing to do with a persons cleanliness it's just one of those things any of us could pick up I'm afraid, you need to see your Doctor and have this treated because if it is Scabies it is highly infectious, however it could also be an allergic reaction to something which could be quite difficult to work out exactly what.
Nowadays with so much carried around on our hands it's a good idea to carry a small pocket size alcohol gel to use on hands that are available now over the counter from a Pharmacy, however don't think about this until you have a definate diagnosis and it's been treated and cleared as it may cause further problems and make matters worse.
Please bear in mind we are not Doctors on this Forum so it would advisable to return to your Health Advisor to get a definate diagnosis as I doubt this would go away without proper treatment.
Good Luck

Definitely not herpes!! Herpes doesn't come and go as you indicated.. Hmm, if they itch only at night and have a reddish appearance, possibly Scabies. Do a Google search on Scabies and see if that fits you! When people more at night than in the day time, that is usually the culprit. Check it out!!
