makes sense...i got the tests done at quest lab, i never saw my actual results. just had the doctor disclose them with me, so i'll get the copy...thanks for your help. but if i due in fact have hsv2, should i take the pills and all that stuff even tho i've never had an outbreak?
odds are you didn't get a WB to confirm your results. I'd call and ask for a copy of your actual herpes test results.
I'd also follow up on all of your rashes with a dermatologist too. Even if you do have hsv2, all the symptoms you've described wouldn't be due to hsv2. make sense?

no. i'm on the east coast....
are you on the west coast of the US that you were able to get a WB?

All my doctor is telling me is I am HSV 1&2 positive, confirmed by a Western Blot. That's my diagnosis, and I accept it although I don't understand what to do from here. I've never had any outbreaks of any kind....should I still take the pills everyday even though I haven't had any yet? Is it common not to have outbreaks....it's been 6 months since the exposure and the most I have had is a small bump on my buttocks that turned into a scab, but went away fast as well as one on my lower abdomen but when the doctor looked at it she said it wasn't herpes-related. so again, confused. also ive been having muscle aches....especially in my upper left leg, close to my vagina. it's numb and when i walk it feels very awkward and I was practically limping the day before yesterday, although it's subsiding now.
call the clinic back and ask them to read your actual herpes blood test results to you and write them down.
i'm going to look over that handbook now, and my doctor called me today to tell me it was positive for hsv1 and 2. thats all she said and im still really confused because i havent had any lesions or outbreaks in either area. its also peculiar because no less than a month ago, i had went to planned parenthood where i had a routine gyn checkup and they told me everything was normal...although i do realize herpes can only be tested through a specific blood test. but still..i dont have any yeast infections or anything. do you think i should retest ?
zovirax cream is pretty much useless for genital herpes infections. If you didn't fill the script yet, consider not doing so.
I really recommend reading the herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com when you get a chance. it's free to read online and it's chock full of terrific info on herpes.
can you also call the clinic today and ask them what your herpes test results are and write them down to post here? all i need you to post is hsv1 igg 4.4 and hsv2 igg 3.3 or whatever they are. That way i can see if you were properly tested and if you need additional testing done or not.
A rash all over the body isn't due to herpes. did your provider have any ideas what was causing it? did they also test you vaginally for yeast and bacterial infections at your appointment?
