This can't be herpes can it?

2 nights ago as usual I went to the bathroom to wash my face. After washing my face I noticed a wierd bumpy sore in the corner of my lip. I wasn't noticeable unless I got close enough to my mirror to see it. It was actually the same color of my skin, but below the actual sore and to right (my right) were two barely noticeable red bumps. They were not big and as I said before barely noticeable unless I got close enough to my mirror to see them. When I woke up the morning after, I was only half awake, but I noticed that when I rubbed the back of my finger across the sore I felt moisture even though I don't think there really was any moisture there.

Later that night and right now as I'm typing, the sore is dry and rough and kind of cracked. When I rub my fingure nail across it, it is very rough and scratchy and causes the dryness to show even more. When I put water on it to get rid of the dryness, I actually see some redness where the sore is.

What could this possibly be?

as I said, you'd have to see your provider for a proper evaluation. it's impossible to diagnose what is going on online.

Sounds like you just have a crack in the corner of your mouth, maybe from dryness. You can always tell about herpes, cause it's almost like poison ivy as a cluster of blisters form, and their will be a tingle with the itching. If a cluster of watery sores come up with a tingle, then chances are, it's a  good possibilty that it very well could be herpes. If it itches, get some toothpaste and dab on it. Instantly stops the itch and it goes away within minutes. The best way to know is seeking a DR. GOODLUCK!!!!

could be chapped lips or it could be something more. at this point you'd need to see your provider.
