Throat Herpes

I'm a 19 year white male, and I only had sex with one person. She was my girlfriend at the time and she cheated on me and got the virus. She then gave it to me. I don't understand allot about it. I'm very careful and scared I might give it to someone else oneday. I have gental herpes and I think I might have throat herpes. My questions are, I have these sores in the back of my throat and there only in the back of my throat. Can they spread on my toung and on my lips? How can I stop them from spreding? How long will they last? These have been there for about 3 weeks now. What do I need to do? Is there meds for throat herps? If so, how much should I take? Mil gram wise?

Well, first of all, you don't know that what you have in your throat is herpes, or strep, or whatever.  You need to see a doctor to get a diagnosis.

Herpes rarely appears in the back of the throat, so its worth it to see a doctor for this, especially if you have strep and need antibiotics.

Let us know what the doctor says, and we can go from there.

there's this person on here, auntjessi (screen name), and she answers pretty much every question on here, he/she seems to know a lot about herpes so wait for her answer, 's seems to be on in the evenings or at night.
I'm here for emotional support. i myself, have not had a test to make sure, so i am not sure that i have it, but it's freaking me out and totally stressing me. i'm 14 and i either got it from my ex-boyfriend who was careless or a ciggeratte from someone i didn't know well- i don't even smoke.
its super distressing, and i don't know anyone else personally who has them. that ***** that that happen like that:( but don't stress too much, there are lots of easy ways to prevent spreading, and its nice to know someone is out there who is just as concious and considerate about this as i am. i can tell you that there are herbal remedies and a pill called Lysine which can help stop a break out before it happens- the dosage varies- and there are many new inventions out there that i'm sure will be of big help
