Is this herpes?

I started having flu-like symptoms and a very sore throat 7 days ago. Around the same time I noticed the skin around the bottom of my labia minora/area around vaginal opening on one side was very tender, swollen, and hard. I didn't look to close until about 2 days ago and noticed underneath there was a white blistery area. It doesn't look like the pictures of herpes blisters though... it was flat and soft (not raised) and I could kind of move it around. And it was pearly white and not yellow or red at all. For some dumb reason I pinched it with my fingernails and a bit of fluid came out and I even got a bit of the skin (came off in my nail when i pinched it) Now it looks like a canker sore you'd have in your mouth. Before the whole area was tender but the blister didn't hurt and there was no itching. Now the ulcer just hurts and the swelling has gone down. My flu-symptoms are mostly gone but I still have a sore throat and it has been 7 days. I did go to the dr and get swabbed and I am waiting for the results but I am going crazy. I'm so terrified this is herpes. It is in the spot where the bartholin gland is so maybe it could have been a bartholin cyst?? Or maybe the swollen skin caused a friction blister? I did have unprotected sex (I can't believe myself). But it was with someone I trusted and I really don't think he could have had an STI, obviously now I'm not so sure. I don't want to ask him yet in case it's not. Has anyone else had anything similar??

Sore throat and fever could also be anything, and it could all be coincidence. If it is herpes, I promise it will all be okay, though. Your life likely won't change all that much. :)

It doesn't sound like herpes, and may be a Bartholin's cyst. It could also be friction, an infected hair follicle, or any number of other things.

I'm happy to hear you went to the doctor. Let us know what the results say.

Thank you that makes me feel better. Hopefully I hear back soon. I realized the sore is too low for where a Bartholin's cyst would be but I also remembered I got a bikini wax last week and she probably would have got that spot... so maybe it injured the skin. I'm just so paranoid because of the timing with my sore throat/fever...
