Valtrex

What is the possibility of being immune to Valtrex?  Is there a possibility that after taking Valtrex daily that in a couple years it may no longer be effective?

i would personally take one in the morning and one in the evening.

no i didn't have any other tests done.  it went away.  she said if that happens again to just take 2 pills a day.

so you never got any additional testing done on your vaginal secretions for yeast and bacterial infections?

no... she said it wasn't really necessary because i was tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea when i had the initial hsv swab, and those 2 came back negative.  since i'm having reoccurrences it's obvious that i have type 2.  so i haven't had any other tests performed.  but i'm due for my yearly so i'll get tested again then.

Well thats good news.  i don't want valtrex to ever stop working, unless of course there is some miracle cure!  i followed up with my doctor and she said the mimic of yeast and "cuts" can be the beginning of an outbreak or actually be the outbreak.  so if i have any of those symptoms again to start taking 2 valtrex a day and it will go away.

Any new news about possible vaccines or anything of that nature?

The rate of resistance to valtrex is about 1% in otherwise healthy folks.  It really isn't going to be an issue for you.

did you ever follow up on your other issues?
