Viral Shedding

Given that Viral Shedding is the biggest risk factor in transmitting the virus.  Does Viral Shedding occur in the same general area outbreaks occur? or can they occur anywhere in the genital area.  The studies only discuss viral shedding testing the presents of the virus but does not say where and how they obtain the evidence.  Also if viral shedding can occur anywhere in the genital i.e. areas where lesions do not occur.  Besides reducing the days of viral shedding does the Anti Viral reduce the area where viral shedding can occur? if so by how much?

Understanding this information will help mange the risk of transmission.

Hi, shedding can occur anywhere is the boxer short area but prefers the path of least resistance which could be determined to be the previous outbreak area. Antivirals inhibit the virus from multiplying thus would inhibit of the amount of virus that can shed.
